Three months after the sale of the first Amels 60 Limited Editions, the Dutch shipyard has announced that the second unit of the new 60m superyacht has been sold. Named Project Witchcraft, the design was first introduced at the 2019 edition of the Monaco Yacht Show and is due to be delivered in just two years.
Moran Yacht & Ship represented the client in the sale and negotiated the build contract, wrote the technical specifications and is set to supervise the build of this new 60m project. This is the fifth time Amels has worked with Moran Yacht & Ship over the past nine years across the Limited Editions range, a relationship which the shipyard refers to as a “successful collaboration.”
“We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the team at Amels for their assistance in the sale of Project Witchcraft and we look forward to working with them throughout the build,” says Sean Moran, managing director of Moran Yacht & Ship.
Having been unveiled in the lead up to Monaco Yacht Show 2019, the Amels 60’s impressive exterior design has been created by Espen Øino International “The Amels 60 is a package that no-one else can offer at this time,” says Espen Øino. “It’s a very well thought-through design where we incorporate all the experience Amels has as a builder and we as designers. I think it is truly a design that reflects the future.”

Based on a new hybrid platform, developed by Damen Shipyards’ in-house Research Laboratory, this new configuration offers a cruising speed of up to 7 knots using electrical propulsion motors. Upon completion, the new owner will benefit from very low noise and vibrations, lower fuel and maintenance costs and a reduction in harmful emissions.
Since the concept of the Limited Editions was first introduced in 2005, Amels has delivered 40 projects. According to The Superyacht Agency, Amels currently have four superyachts under construction, two of which are scheduled for delivery this year
“The Amels 60 is an exciting new take on the very best Amels knowhow and craftsmanship that has shaped everything we have done for more than 100 years,” says Rose Damen, Managing Director of the Damen Shipyards’ Yachting division. “Just like the global fleet of Limited Editions yachts at sea today, the Amels 60 will be a beacon of trusted reliability, quality and comfort for decades to come.”
The sale of Project Witchcraft reaffirms the strength of Amels’ Limited Editions offering and the proven platform upon which it is based.
